Elliot received his Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance and Composition from the DePaul University School of Music. While at DePaul Elliot studied with Bobby Broom(Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis, Art Blakey and fellow guitarist Kenny Burrell) and Bob Palmieri(John Scofield, Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, Lyle Mays, Garth Brooks, the American Ballet Theater and Rochester and Florida Philharmonic Orchestras,Pat Metheny Group, Phillip Glass Ensemble, Rashied Ali and Fred Hersch).

Elliot recently moved to New York from Chicago where he was an active member of the music scene. While in Chicago he performed and recorded with a handful of groups. He has performed at many of the venues all over Chicago and has also toured a large chunk of the United States and Canada as well. Elliot played sold out shows at The Knitting Factory(New York and Los Angeles) as well as the renowned Green Mill jazz lounge in Chicago. He has performed alongside Jeff Parker(Tortoise), Reggae Legend Mad Professor, The Dresden Dolls, Modern Composer George Flynn and many more.

Elliot has proved to possess a very clear understanding of the language of music in many styles including jazz,rock, reggae, hip hop, electronica, soul/R&B and more.
