About Me

Voice -

I graduated Gordon College with my bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance in 2007. I am now working on my master's in Opera at the Longy School of Music, in Cambridge, MA. My teachers, coaches, and mentors have included Robert Honeysucker, Tom Enman, Noriko Yasuda, Donna Roll, Michael Monroe, Brian Moll, and Mary Bulger. I am aiming for a professional opera career and am actively performing all the time, but love teaching and making time for that as well.

Acting -

I have acted locally and professionally with companies across New England, including Portland Stage Company, Arundel Barn Playhouse (where we performed for President George Bush, sr.!), Boston Center for the Arts, MIT Players, Portland Players, Gordon College, and Longy School of Music. I have worked with noted names such as Leo Nickole and done masterclasses and acting classes with Michael Howard, Donna Roll, and Susan Brooks.

Flute -

I started playing flute at the age of 10  and since then have studied with Alicia DiDonato, Kay Hamlin, Christina Kelsh, and Marta Lane. I have played in flute quartets, pit bands and other ensembles. I also have played numerous weddings, concerts, recitals, church services, and othe gigs.

Lesson Details

In my lessons, I like to start with warm ups. It's important to me to explain to you, the student, what the exercise is, why it's important, why you're doing, and what it's targeting. After that, we spend the rest of the lesson on repertoire. (which is generally at least half of our time left, sometimes more.) I love repertoire and it's important that you have a say in your repertoire so that you like what you're singing, too! We will pick out songs that you like and also that suit your vocal range and level. I will teach anything classical and broadway. I am very laid back and love to laugh, but I also will keep on task, so that lessons are both fun and educational.
