I have a strong passion for music, and plan to teach my students the fundamental technique they need to develop a personal musical voice. I can be quite demanding, but also believe that flexibility and patience are key in lessons. I am happy to tailor lessons to the student's individual interests as much as possible. I will use the Suzuki books as a graded system, but can supplement with other music as well. I will work with you to cultivate good rhythm, intonation, left hand and bow technique, posture, tone quality, and musical expression. I am happy to teach beginners, young children, adults, or more advanced students-- all I ask is that you have a willingness to explore your musical potential! I can teach in my studio, or come to your home.
I specialize in teaching chamber music to string ensembles and one-on-one cello instruction. I have taught students ranging from 4 yr. old beginners all the way through conservatory graduate students. My training is mostly classical, although I have some knowledge of contemporary music. Now that I'm out of school, I plan to pursue Suzuki certification this fall.
