Originally from Minnesota, I was born to a piano teacher and have been surrounded by music all my life. I have a natural musical instinct and started learning the piano at age 3. At age 9 I started the Viola. I have been playing the Viola for 16 years. I have given Viola and Violin lessons for about 6 years.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Viola Performance from Luther College, Decorah, IA.
Musical Experience: My experience ranges from High School orchestra principle violist, Minnesota All-State Orchestra all the way to my professional experience with the LaCross Symphony Orchestra in LaCrosse, WI.
Style: I play and teach the classic style of Viola/Violin playing. I like to encourage all styles of playing, but any style of musician needs a firm foundation on their instrument.
Lesson Details
I will do either half hour or hour lessons. Lessons will be based on what YOU want to acheive. If you have clear goals for yourself, I will help you acheive them. If you are looking for inspiration and direction, I will help you find that. I can work with somebody who is looking for a new hobby or with a serious student looking for a music career. Lessons will include technical emphasis as well as literature.
