"Amanda is a great teacher. She always planned ahead of time and she make sure that Rani..."Amanda was introduced to music lessons through the French Horn and piano. By age 11 she had extended her musical abilities to include "classical" vocal training. This introduction to the voice and other instruments in her early years paved the road to a successful career in performing and music education.
Recieving her Bachelors degree in Music, vocal performance from Syracuse University was just the beginning. Amanda is now pursuing her Masters in Music Education from NYU's esteemed Steinhard School, as well as her Kodaly certification (a Hungarian method to music education)!
Regarding her teaching experience Amanda began building her educational ladder by directing college a cappella and cabaret groups. She currently teaches for a private music school in Northern New Jersey. There she directs three children's choirs, teaches basic musicianship (ear training and theory classes), Intro to Solo Singing and private voice lessons.
From performing the National Anthem for the 24,00 count crowd at a Syracuse University Basketball game to Classical and Folk recitals and Broadway style cabarets Amanda continues to pursue performing opportunities and experiences. To be able to move an audience through performance is an unbelievable gift!
Amanda approaches singing with a motto voiced by Miles Daivis; "Do not fear mistakes, there are none". You will pave your own path to vocal success with some accompanied guidance by Amanda. "As a team we will discover the best ways for you to achieve your musical goals".
Amanda will mold her teaching style to best fit your learning needs. Throughout your vocal lessons you will cover posture, breathing for singing, song selection, performance techniques, ear training, music theory and a plethora of other musical elements. "My goal is for you to walk out of my studio with more confidence, knowledge and relaxation, than when you walked in."
The musical experience can take so many shapes and forms. Whether you are preparing for an audition, a professional looking to brush up on your technique or new to voice lessons looking to make music of your own Amanda can help. "I've always felt making music should be a therapeutic experience that leaves you wanting to come back for more".
